Asia’s top 200 companies

Every year the WallStreetJournal publishes a list of the top 20 companies in every Asian/S.E.Asian nations. The list only includes companies listed on stock exchanges and is based on an international survey of about 2700 executives. Rankings are based on 5 variables: Financial Reputation, Corporate Reputation, Quality, Innovation and Vision.

Here are the top five on some selected countries

China

1. China Merchants Bank

2. Lenovo

3. China Mobile

4. Ctrip.com

5. Baidu

India

1. Infosys technologies

2. Tata Consultancy Services

3. Tata Steel

4. Larsen & Toubro

5. Hindustan Lever

(By industry the top 10 includes: 4 IT/Engineering/Consulting services, 2 Automobile manufacturers, 1 Consumer Goods, 1 Steel manufacturer, 1 Bank, 1 Telecom Provider)

Thailand

1. Siam Cement

2. Charoen Pokphand Foods

3. PTT

4. Kasikorn Bank

5. Siam Commercial Bank
